Every once in a while you give in to the requests to donate this that or the other. Most of the time it’s little stuff like a set of tires or some gift cards. But on this occasion I was foolish enough to donate a custom built frame to some random person during a women’s only gathering at the 2009 CX nationals. Lucky for me Kate Dunning a local BendOR resident won the bike and happens to be a pretty cool chick. I took FOREVER to build this bike, but Kate was extremely patient and for that I am grateful. So it’s nice in the end that Heather Clark of the Bulletin wrote an article about Kate and how the bike that I built for her pushed her into racing cross. Sure she rides for the guys at Pine Mountain Sports, but she certainly has the coolest bike out of the bunch.
